Toshiba launches new 2.5in HDD drives

Toshiba has introduced two new high capacity 2.5 inch hard disk drives at 40 and 80GB.
The drives have a claimed density of 64.8GB/in2 and are aimed at the notebook market with operating shock resistance of 200G and non-operating shock of up to 800G. The 80GB version is built with two platters, four heads. Toshiba claims an average seek time of 12ms.
The products will be available through OEMs at the end of June.
