Although it's not part of the Woolworths group, Zavvi relied on the Woolworths-owned Entertainment UK to supply CDs, DVDs and games.
A statement on Zavvi's homepage says the company has therefore decided to stop taking new orders for those products on its website and cancel any outstanding orders that it cannot fulfill. Other products, such as books and electronics devices, are still being sold as normal.
"Regretfully, at this time we are unable to fully guarantee the supply of DVD, music and games products to our customers," the statement reads.
"As you, our customers, remain our primary concern, particularly in the run-up to Christmas, we have decided to suspend taking orders for these products while we work to resolve the situation."
Zavvi is at least faring better than Woolworths itself - the Woolies website is currently displaying a dull, grey error message claiming "our site is currently undergoing essential maintenance. Please check back later."
